Sourced through the fantastic team at Raw Material, this lot is a blend from three different processing stations in the region. 'Gito' in Kinyarwanda translates to 'tiny', as coffee cherry seeds of this size would usually be separated during sorting and sent straight to the commodity market. In an effort to maximise volumes being sent to the speciality market and in turn maximise the profits they can return to the producers, Raw Material sorted out the highest density of these smaller seeds in all three stations and found a delicious cup in the resulting blend.
A great testament to how with care throughout the chain, we can make sure no good coffee goes to waste and more value is returned for the efforts of those we rely on for our favourite brew.
